Success Stories

Meadow

From Rescue to Champion

Meadow is one of our FAVORITE stories! Meadow was part of one of Virginia's largest Thoroughbred seizure cases. She and 139 other Thoroughbreds were seized in 2023 by law enforcement/animal control from dire conditions. She came to H4H as a body score of 1.5, riddled with lice and rain rot. She had not been receiving veterinarian care or farrier care for some time. Our H4H team went to work on rehabbing Meadow with our team of staff, veterinarians and volunteers! Meadow was able to make a full recovery while in our program and even start training! She was adopted out by an amazing woman in 2024 and we are just thrilled that we were able to be the catalyst to set Meadow up for success in her future!

Chosen Moon

Unstoppable Spirit

Moon is another perfect example of what we do here at Hope For Horses! Moon came to Hope For Horses in 2022 directly from the track after sustaining a condylar fracture on his RF leg. The leg was surgically repaired with screws and Moon needed rehabilitation care and stall rest for a year. He moved through his rehabilitation care nicely and then began his retraining with us. Moon's restarting and retraining was slow and steady and because all of the right steps were taken, he is now SOUND and RIDING under saddle! Go, Moon, Go!
