Sketch doesn’t need another home. He already found his last one.

At 30+ years old, Sketch is one of the oldest, and most treasured, members of the Hope For Horses family. His working years are behind him, and there is no adoption application waiting in his future. Sketch will stay with us for the rest of his life.

These days, his job is simply to be Sketch.

He is the steady companion beside a nervous young Thoroughbred learning that the world is safe. He keeps recovering horses company during rehabilitation. He teaches volunteers how to slow down, pay attention, and care for a senior horse with dignity. And somehow, just by standing beside him, people tend to remember why they fell in love with horses in the first place.

Age has brought some special needs. Sketch has only four teeth remaining, which means traditional hay is no longer an option. His meals are carefully prepared senior mashes designed to provide the nutrition he can no longer get by grazing and chewing like a younger horse. His care requires extra attention, monitoring, veterinary support, and a feeding program built specifically around him.

And we think he has earned every bit of it.

Sponsoring Sketch means helping us keep a promise: that after a lifetime of giving to people, he will never have to worry about what comes next. He will have good meals, excellent care, soft places to rest, friends beside him, and people who know just how much an old pony is worth.

There is no adoption day at the end of Sketch’s story.
